Shine Your Light

Be passionate about what you do

When we decide to make a business out of our life work, it is usually because we feel passionate about what we do. We promote our products and services because we know they will help others change the quality of their lives. Women thrive in businesses that help or serve others in some way. When we know intuitively that what we do is helping others to improve the quality of their lives, the meaning we give to our business changes.

Create a business from your feminine essence

I have noticed that when women create a business from their feminine essence, the process of creating becomes almost effortless. A business is made up of the people who run it, and as women we tend to care a lot about people and relationships. Building relationships and caring about others, combined with taking action, is a recipe for success. Serving, protecting and nurturing others—caring about the planet—are feminine qualities. When we honour our feminine essence and bring our natural qualities to our business, there is no sense of struggle. We create what we want almost effortlessly.

Shine your light

When we know that we are using our product or service to shine our light and make a contribution, we look upon our business differently than if we were just out to make a profit. We cannot fully and passionately engage in our life work if we don’t first decide that it is indeed our birthright to shine our light on this planet through the business activity we have chosen.

Marketing is all about shining our light. Marketing takes on a different meaning when we connect it to the bigger picture—serving others so that we can spread our God-given glory.

We become responsible for sharing our service when we know that if we don’t make a contribution, the universe will not recognize our talents and abilities. When our work is our life path, we don’t hesitate to speak about it. In fact, we feel selfish when we don’t share what we have to offer the world. Why wouldn’t we want the universe to know what we do? Why wouldn’t we want to help others get what we feel they deserve?

Our ego wants to trap us in our smallness by telling us stories like, What if people don’t like what I have to offer? But our spirit knows that if others don’t like what we are offering, that has nothing to do with us; they may not need it at this time. We need to remain detached. Our only responsibility is to share what we have, find ways to express our essence, our light, and let the universe take care of the details.

Spiritual marketing is about helping others with the intention of serving them so that they can have what you are offering. If the person you are speaking to doesn’t want your product, that doesn’t make it any less valuable—it simply means that person’s needs are different. You don’t need to be attached to the results. Instead, be open to attracting people and finding ways to help them meet their needs through what you have to offer. Trust enough not to let one person’s refusal to try your product become a reflection on who you are. You will free yourself from the burden of not sharing your services with those who need them. All you need to do is share and trust.

Value yourself

It is important to claim your value from the world. Make a list of your successes and strengths and share it with others. Then let yourself feel deserving enough to ask a price that is right to support your livelihood. If you don’t, you are not contributing to the abundant economy of the universe. When you give someone your business, or they give theirs to you, you are making a contribution. Put yourself in sync with the universal principle of creation—that giving and receiving are both acts of generosity. Be just as willing to ask for your value as you would be to pay for something you believe will benefit you.

Our talents and abilities are God-given gifts that we choose to express in the world. Don’t let marketing (a loaded word) fool you into believing that your products are somehow different from your life path. You may not yet have found the right branding or the right way to market yourself, but if you believe in your product, you are well on your way to business success.

It is important to shine our light, whether in business or our personal lives. If we don’t, our lives will become small. Our spirit won’t shine through, and many people with go without experiencing us, our greatness, our brilliance and our abilities. It is our God-given right to shine our light, no matter what.

By being yourself and showing your uniqueness—owning it and letting it shine for all the world to see—you become the market you want to capture!

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do I want to serve these particular people?
  • What attracts me to them?
  • Why am I passionate about selling to these people, rather than all the other people in the world?

The answer is that these people are interested in being served by you.

  • These people are looking for what you have. You are just responding to their desires by choosing them and claiming them as your market.
  • There is a match between your desire to serve them and their need to be served by you, which means you—and only you—have the solution to their specific needs.
