Musical duo Wilderland answers the call by releasing their new song “Fragile Day” with 100% of all proceeds benefiting the habitat affected by this tragedy.

Heralding from the mountains of Ashland, Oregon, Wilderland features singer-songwriters Scott Blum and Kat Sanchez. A veteran from the music industry, Blum (multimedia producer for Peter Gabriel, Soundgarden and many others) balances the exquisite vocal stylings of Sanchez who had been a member of a wide range of local bands most of her life.

After writing several original songs, the musicians began collaborating with renowned underground DJ and multi-instrumentalist Rara Avis (Desert Dwellers, Shaman’s Dream) to realize their musical vision. It was during these studio sessions that the Gulf Oil Spill tragedy happened which deeply affected all involved in the project. Ironically, the song “Fragile Day” was being worked on at that very moment, and when explaining the song’s lyrics to Avis, Blum realized that a powerful synchronicity was afoot. The song included the lyric “Fish are dimming while they’re swimming / Blackened ocean of foam” which, although written nearly two years prior, was about fish dying because of an oil spill. Credit is given to Blum’s wife Madisyn Taylor who suggested that “Fragile Day” be released immediately with all proceeds benefiting the habitat affected by the oil spill.

Also touched by the environmental tragedy, music industry superstars Toby Wright (Grammy award winning producer of Alice in Chains, Korn, 3 Doors Down, etc.) and Stephen Marcussen (mastering engineer for the Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Seal, Cher, Paul McCartney, etc.) both contributed their expertise to this worthwhile project.

You can download two versions of “Fragile Day” by Wilderland with 100% of the proceeds donated to three important charities helping the habitat affected by the Gulf Oil Spill Tragedy. These organizations include The Gulf Restoration Network, EarthShare and the WILD Foundation.

I have been paying close attention to the news about the economic crisis and listening to the deeper reasons.  I couldn’t help becoming aware of the new books, Slow Love and Unfinished Business recently brought to fame by Oprah.  They are the stories of two executives and how they built their lives after the economic crisis and how the economic crisis made it possible for them to face deeper truths.

I sincerely believe that there is something to be learned by the economic crisis. Perhaps a new understanding of the most important things in life, things we may not have been paying attention to prior to the crisis. We are now invited to do meaningful work that we love. When the security of having a set income goes away, we are free to choose our own path and writing our own destiny. That’s why many of people have finally chosen to follow the path of entrepreneurship, doing what they love after the economic crisis left them jobless.

Being an entrepreneur is the most fulfilling and exhilarating path.  It is also a spiritual journey.  That’s why I call entrepreneurs, spiritprenuers.  When one is responsible for one’s own destiny, there is freedom in addition to the challenge of doing deep inner work, addressing beliefs about money, acknowledging your value in the world and your sincere desire to make the world a better place through your work.

This is why I am passionate about supporting creative female entrepreneurs including coaches, healers, filmmakers, writers and designers.  I support them to express their talents and claim the value of their life work.

If you are a creative female entrepreneur and have had enough playing small, I would urge you to pay attention to what needs to happen in order for you to express your talents in your own unique way. Igniting the Energy

Last month I spoke about intention.  Creating an intention has always been a comfortable concept for me because it uses feminine energy. A focused intention that is born out of being in the flow of life, listening to your soul and capturing that energy in alignment with the natural rhythm of life, allows for miracles in the process of creating a successful business or a personal life.

I have learned that once we make a decision and create an intention, the next step is to ignite various energies in our consciousness that can help align our internal energy with the external object of desire.

The easiest way to ignite these energies of creation is to look for someone who already possess them in their consciousness and get into a relationship with that person. Being in an energetic relationship with this person can help you to quicken the process of your own evolution by exchanging the energy you are trying to ignite in yourself, and in turn help you create what you want to create faster!

I am a strong believer in having coaches and mastermind groups in my business to help me move to next level. I look for someone who has achieved success the way I want to achieve it, by being in touch with their values and expressing their passions from an authentic place, and then I make a conscious effort to get into a committed coaching or masterminding relationship with them to move forward.

It helps on a practical level, of course, with brainstorming and such, but lately I have paid close attention to subtle changes, the changes that happen right away when two people enter into an exchange of creating energy by being in a committed working relationship with one another. The exchange of money makes this relationship committed and when one person pays the other it is a declaration that they value what is offered.   The commitment of exchanging money in turn for talent creates a strong committed energetic relationship in which both people show up fully to explore what is possible for the giver and receiver.

I have noticed in the mastermind group I am leading that changes are happening for the group on many different levels from various sources.  I believe this is because they have committed to the group in a focused manner.

I had the easiest delivery I could imagine. I got to experience my divine feminine strength during the process of delivering my child. My intention to experience my divine feminine energy took over my fear of labour.

Evidence of Abundance

Here are the steps to creating an abundant experience in every situation, be it a business project or something more personal.

Intention

I had an intention to have an easy labour and easy time after I brought the baby home. Creating an intention is the first step in having an abundant experience.

Asking Someone to Hold Your Intention for You

I shared my intention with a very good friend who was once a midwife in Manitoba. Although I had the intention to have an easy labour, I didn’t quite vision it to be totally natural. Sharing my intention with someone who believed in the divinity of woman to deliver naturally, who believed and held unconditional intention for me made the process of delivering my child easy and effortless.

Accept Support

One of the lessons I learned from my first birth is to always accept good support. With my first child, I didn’t accept support because I felt inadequate asking for help.  Now I am in a different place and accept support graciously. Asking for and receiving help are both acts of generosity. I get my meals cooked by my community and my sister’s housekeeper. My husband does the diaper and bath duty. I get to feed the baby and relax. It is a wonderful way to raise a child.

Believe in Abundance

When I went into labour, the nurse asked me to give a urine sample. I went to washroom but didn’t have any fluid in my body to pass water. At that very moment, my water bag broke and despite of labour pain I smiled thinking of the abundance of water that was available. My friend Jamie had been encouraging me to apply the concept of abundance and law of attraction to my delivery process and it worked like a magic.

Overcome Limiting Beliefs

When the doctors told me that I was ready to deliver the baby in 5 minutes, right after I reached the hospital, all my fears came up. I can’t do this. I have low pain tolerance, etc.

During the process of a very easy delivery, I was able to let go of many of the limiting beliefs I had held about myself. I was grateful for the opportunity to release them and choose new beliefs about myself.

Abundance of Time

I was told by many women that labour pain is really bad. “It can feel like you are dying.” In my innocence, I kept waiting for it to get really bad. When I reached hospital they said I was ready to deliver. My husband said he was parked in a five minute parking zone so he needed to move the car. The doctor said, “Your baby is coming in five minutes!” The Universe expanded with an abundance of time. My husband was there to help me deliver and then he went to park the car.

Once again I had to laugh at the reality of abundance, a concept I have been teaching all along.

Pain is Sometimes a Reality, Suffering is Always Optional

The stories we tell ourselves shape the experiences we have. Rather than try to escape the pain of this birth, I decided to embrace it and stay with it. I chose to acknowledge it and noticed that it came and went. Everything in life is like that. It ebbs and flows. When we stay with the pain and embrace the experience and the energy it creates, when we can allow our anger, hatred, fear and pain and let it wash over us and leave again, we will find an abundance of peace and growth on the other side.

Remember, there is an abundance of experience in life to choose from. All we have to do is make a decision, choose how we want experience life and life will show up in that way.

To create unlimited abundance, we need to tap into the source that resides within us. I help creative female entrepreneurs tap into their creativity and access their inner reserve of abundance. The connection with their inner goddess is a source of wisdom.  They learn to slow down, listen to their intuition and take internally inspired action. Slowing down allows us to tune into the sensitive side of ourselves, to soak in the wonders and beauty of nature and to be inspired by new ideas and ways of doing business.

There are many tools used to get in touch with our intuitive goddess of creativity. One of my favorites is to book a daily Creative Mini-Retreat for myself. Every morning before I switch on my computer to catch up with emails or attend to my appointments, I go out for half an hour for what I call my creative self-reflection. It is a Creative Mini-Retreat I do for me.

I pack inspirational items into a bag to take with me. Find a bag that inspires you, that taps into the excitement you have to be making the time for you.  I like this particular one that I got from the Women of Worth conference I attended several years ago. They gave the goodies and materials from holistic professionals in this very nice bag from banana lulu which has a collection of inspirational quotes on it.

Inside my bag I have a notebook, coloured pens and a good pen pen. The notebook has sections for various creative projects I am working on currently. Stay tuned for the exciting new packages and products coming your way!

In each section, I have created a mind map. I was introduced to the concept of mind mapping years ago, while living in England with my family, through Tony Buzan’s book, Mind Maps. It is an engaging way to connect with your right brain and brainstorm ideas for working projects. I like to use coloured pens to make my mind maps beautiful.

Location is another factor to consider when designing your retreat time. I choose a local library. We have a beautiful corner in our local library that is designed for the readers. There are comfy couches with patterned materials, beautiful flower décor and a wall displaying current fashion magazines. This place is quiet and inspirational for me.  The beauty of this environment feeds my soul. You can choose the place you like for your creative time. My coach Laura West chooses a bakery as a part of her what she calls Creative Bagel Time.

I learned about the concept of the Creative Mini-Retreat from Laura.  When I implemented it, I experienced personally what it can for an entrepreneur who works from her home office. The creative juices start to flow in a new environment. By getting out of my regular environment, I gain a sense of connection with the greater world.  And I benefit from sharing the energy of others.

I would encourage you to create your own Creative Mini-Retreat and watch it work wonders in your life. Remember these tips:

• Choose a location that appeals to you. A café, library or a park with weather being so nice right now.
• Pack your bag with items that inspire you. Maybe include motivational quotes or stories.
• Make it colorful. Take crayons or markers with you to make your ideas beautiful
• Take a notebook or journal.

One last tip, I start my time by doing something relaxing.  I might pick up a beautiful magazine and looking at the pictures for inspiration.  Today I looked at an Indian magazine with beautiful jewelry.  I lingered over the photos and stories of goddesses.
